1984 london is thrilled to introduce you to their short animated film, 'dream life of paper', a phantasmagorical, dreamy allegory of innocence and life that follows the journey of three enchanting origami animals from primordial awakening through to unforeseeable dematerialisation.

merging compelling narrative with the latest trends in 3D design and animation, such as maya modelling, cinema 4D animation and octane rendering, it showcases 1984 london’s evolution of skills and adherence to creating immersive digital experiences. the film was conceived entirely in the 1984 studio and features an elevating music score produced by music and sound design studio, father.

the avios big reward

our most recent project, working with avios and 101, is the avios big reward. an exciting interactive campaign consisting of 3D outdoor ads and an eponymous website that invites all voyagers to think about the people they treasure and then voice their thoughts in a recorded thank you note that may win them a pair of tickets to ny or a top european destination.

the digitally 3D animated outdoor ads, which are being played across london and the rest of the uk involved 3D modelling, animating, compositing and rendering to get the finest look and feel. the tickets, which have been used in the print material, were also rendered out individually as high resolution 3D statics.

the campaign is a wonderful and simple opportunity to turn the gratitude to your loved ones into a spontaneous and unforgettable journey.

to launch real stars are rare, the menswear label of music legend paul weller, 1984 collaborated with phil bickley, owner of menswear store tonic, 101 founding partner mark elwood and john brown media managing director alex silcox to create and produce the brand’s website and film for the autumn winter 2014 collection.

shot in our classy home, somerset house and featuring an original track written and performed by paul weller, the result is a fashion film that showcases visual sophistication of the brand, while retaining the timelessness ingrained in the clothes.

we are extremely proud to have collaborated with one of britain’s most revered cultural icons and thrilled to wear his classic, yet utterly contemporary pieces.

ihaunt is a playful location-based photo app which enables users to plant their visual memories where they are made through the use of augmented reality.

you can either snap a photo or grab one from your photo gallery, plant it and you are “your memory” floating anywhere in the world, waiting to be discovered by other users who visit the same places as you, creating a community that will share not only common memories about a particular place, but also real time tips and recommendations.

In a dreamy, yet fun and functional way it reinvents the way we share our memories and redefines our relationship to physical places.

ihaunt creator, chris jarrett comments: “the idea was created by simply wanting to plant memorable photos anywhere, for others to discover for years to come...”

for the relaunch of scottish widows, the oldest and most trusted life pension and investment company in the uk, we joined forces with our exciting co-workers at 101 london.

to deliver a friendly integrated campaign with tv, press, outdoor and digital. the design and development team at 1984 spent three months creating online rich media ads and two beautifully responsive campaign microsites which had 111,517 visits in the first week.

the campaign successfully reinvigorated the 200 year old heritage brand - which launched its first advertising campaign in 1986 with a tv ad directed by david bailey!

the watch gallery commissioned 1984 to create, shoot, direct, and animate the first live action watch ad showcasing the beating heart of a mechanical timepiece.

The aim was to illustrate the complexity of the movement through the open case back of Bremont's Solo Pilot's watch, with the watch slowly turning around to reveal the inner workings of it.

To create such a pioneering ad confirms The Watch Gallery's status as the leading online retailer for luxury watches and us at 1984 are extremely proud to have produced such an exciting work and to be part of the spectacular world of fine watch making.

inspired by our love for - and dedication to - beautiful imagery and visual storytelling, 1984 debuted on the creative digital scene as once upon a time.

a brand film that echoes our eternal fascination with whimsical, noir animation, six things was created entirely in 1984's studio to illustrate the core values of our company – which stay the same even if the name has been replaced with a more resonant one!

the process followed a cinematic course: al halil, our maverick art director, illustrated six concepts about us. we transformed the illustrations in to 3d models, rigged, lit, animated and graded them. to compliment our beautiful animations, artfully created by andon, our 3D designer, we crafted a nifty soundtrack to accompany the film.
